DPD Stepping Up into Less-Than-Lethal Remote Restraints
The Dickinson Police Department is always looking to enhance their horizons when using tools of the trade. The latest and greatest is Bola Wrap Technology, remote restraint less than lethal option.
DPD’s Executive staff, along with several officersof the department, was given a presentation by Wrap Technology Instructor Josh Kauffman. A PowerPoint along with a hands-on “Live Wrapping” was demonstrated.
The Bola Wrap Tool has almost the same concept as the taser however it projects a “Bola” from the mechanism and wraps your target, so their movement is placed in restraints. This keeps the subject’s movement and actions under control, while officers can move in and effect an arrest or detainment.
The Dickinson Police Department will be acquiring this technology for their officers to have yet another less than lethal option when on patrol.
