ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF OUR MEMBERS
Since the inception of our organization, our members have continued to "shine" throughout the community and the state.
•Hurricane Preparation and Response Assistance: September 13 - During Hurricane IKE several of our Alumni Members stayed at the Dickinson Police Dept. for several days cooking food, assisting Police officers and the community. They manned phones, helped survey and assess damages to homes, businesses, and streets as well as Cleanup Efforts at Paul Hopkins Park. We also manned Command Centers to help Citizens with FEMA Insurance forms.
•Community Thanksgiving Luncheon: November 22 - Our Alumni helped Set up, Cook, Serve, and cleanup for over 600 people in our community
•Annual Dickinson Police Department Open House: December 12 - Our Alumni helped Set up, Cook, Serve, and cleanup for over 600 people in our community
•Annual Empty Stocking Program: December 13 - Our Alumni assisted in Parking, Traffic Control,and distribution of Gifts to the less fortunate in our Community
•Blue Santa Program: December 18/19 - Our Alumni assisted our Police Department in Gift Wrapping, Serving Refreshments and distribution of Gifts to the Community
•Dickinson Festival of Lights: December - Our Alumni Volunteered may hours during the Month of December and raised $400.00 that went towards our Back the Badge program that supports Officers and their Families in Financial need due to Death or Illness
•DCPAAA 10th Anniversary and Party: February 7 - DCPAAA celebrated 10 years in which we honored all Alumni, Police Department Personnel, and their Families.
•Bucket Brigade: March 7 - Our Alumni raised over $1000.00 in over 1 1/2 hours for First Aid Kits fot the Police Department Patrol Cars.
•Trash Bask: March 25 - Our Alumni Volunteered with Keep Dickinson Beautiful to Clean our Bayou and Waterways.
•Health and Safety Fair: April 4 - Our Alumni assisted our Police Department with distributing Health and Safety information to the public, door prizes and serving food.
•DCPAAA Day: April 14 - DCPAAA was honored by Dickinson Mayor, Julie Masters with a proclamation that April 14th is Dickinson Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association Day!
•Annual Garage Sale: May 2 - DCPAAA Annual Garage Sale Raised $1124.39 that went towards new Brochures for the Police Department. It was a huge success considering most Items were marked at $1.00
•Citizens on Patrol: Our Alumnus Citizens on Patrol group has volunteered over 2300 patrol hours in the past year assising the Dickinson Police Department,Police officers and the Community. Our DCPAAA serves as a model for similar programs statewide because of our Outstanding Police Chief Ron Morales and the foresight of our past and present Board of Directors as well as the continuing dedication and commitment and hard work demonstrated by all our members.
